1. Humor Sells!

Some 15,000 gentleman responded to the following ad placed in an
Atlanta newspaper:

Single black female seeks male companion, ethnicity unimportant.
I’m a very good-looking girl who loves to play. I love long walks
in the woods, riding in your pick-up truck, hunting, camping and
fishing trips, cozy winter nights lying by the fire. Candle light
dinners will have me eating out of you hand. Rub me the right way
and watch me respond! I’ll be at the front door when you get home
from work, wearing only what nature gave me. Kiss me and I’m
yours. Call xxx-xxxx and ask for Daisy.

The above ad was placed by the Atlanta Humane Society, seeking a
home for an eight-week old black Lab retriever named Daisy.

Another reminder that a little creativity and little humor
can garner a LOT of attention . . .
2. Mike’s Fun at Work Tip

If you are looking to hire new staff try adding some humor to
your help wanted ads to help them stand out from the pack, and
attract fun-loving folks to your company. Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream,
SouthWest Airlines and Barney’s Motel in Brandon, Manitoba have
all add great success using humor in the help wanted ads.
3. Quote of the Week

“You can’t deny laughter; when it comes, it plops down in your
favorite chair and stays as long as it wants.” Stephen King
4. It’s a Wacky, Wacky World

Scientists have finally created the first robotic receptionist.
“Valerie” even comes with a personality (which is more than I can
say for a few of the receptionists I’ve met). Motion detectors
allow her to detect and greet visitors as they approach, and
although she can only answer simple questions, she will chat with
you about her boss, her psychiatrists and even her dreams.

Now if they could only invent a robo-boss . . .

Happy hump day everyone!
