The Hump Day Humor-Gram Issue #22, October 30, 2002

Please feel free to give this out on Halloween, carve a
face into it or make a scary mask out it . . .

In this issue . . .

1. A Halloween HumpDay Story: The SCARY Workplace
2. Mike’s Fun at Work Tip
3. Quote of the Week
4. It’s a Wacky, Wacky, World
1. The Scary Workplace

All right boys and girls, gather around nice and close to the campfire
so everyone can hear the Halloween tale of: The Scary Workplace. Are
you a little scared already? Boo.

Imagine a workplace that is sooooo frighteningly scary – how scary you
ask? It’s so scary that . . .

Your boss has a life-sized blow-up picture of Dilbert’s boss on his
office wall for inspiration

The bathroom key is tied an angry wolverine

Emergency oxygen masks are supplied for staff meetings

The last time you celebrated anything was during the disco era

Your office’s definition of fun involves the phrase “collating”

You have to steal leftover parts of donuts from other meetings

Your company’s slogan is: “Yeah, We’re Still Here”

When you play a game of “Office Survivor” everyone volunteers to be
voted off the island

When your boss ask to see your briefs, they’re not talking paperwork

Your employee of the month works for your competitor

Your company mascot is a weasel

Your office dress code was written by Cher

Happy Halloween everyone! And be sure to watch out for next year’s
Halloween tale: Return of The Scary Office!
2. Mike’s Fun at Work Tip

It’s Halloween tomorrow so for goodness sakes get in the spirit of
things by dressing up. Or try on some these ideas (Okay, maybe for
next year!)

– Have a Halloween-themed meeting complete with Trick or Treating
– Have a prize for the best client/customer costume of the day
– Have an employee costume contest
– Hold a contest for the “Best Costume that
Best Represents Our Workplace Spirit or Theme”
– Have a “pick you nose” meeting where everyone gets to chose a
goofy nose to wear
3. Quote of the Week

“Time is natures way of keeping everything from happening at once.”
4. It’s a Wacky, Wacky World

While most folks’ thoughts today are turning to dressing up, let’s
pause for a moment to consider dressing down a tad.

Each year, on the second Saturday in July, thousands of folks gather
at a small tavern in southern California and moon the passing Amtrak

The tavern sits a mere 40 yards away from the railway tracks, making
it an ideal spot for mooning passing trains. The ritual began 24
years ago, and now more than 3,000 folks are showing up. . . and
showing off their OWN cabooses – cheeky little monkeys.
