1. On-the-Job Power Naps

It’s hard to have a good sense of humor about things when
you’re running a sleep deficit, as so many of us apparently
are doing. It’s also more difficult to be creative, enthusiastic
about your job and motivated to make it to Friday when you’re
behind on you sleep.

Which is why some companies are starting to view workplace
naps as a good way to boost productivity and to reward employees
with a bit of a perk. In fact, a study from a sleep research
centre in new Zealand found that a short (even just 5 minutes)
afternoon nap can significantly improve employees’ productivity
and alertness.

Intuit Canada, based in Edmonton, Alberta, realizes the
Positive benefits of a catnap – they have three nap rooms
in their office featuring a bed, alarm clock and reading lamp.

I’m getting sleepy already just thinking about it . . .

Nighty night.
2. Mike’s Fun at Work Tip

Why not go one step further than a nap room and install a few
hammocks next to a couple of fake palm trees? Ten minutes in
a hammock, next to a fake palm tree, under a heat lamp, could
do wonders for your mood! They key is limiting it to ten
minutes . . .
3. Quote of the Week

I realize that humour isn’t for everyone. It’s only for people
who want to have fun, enjoy life and feel alive.”
Anne Wilson Schaef
4. It’s a Wacky, Wacky World

Someone in the U.S. has created a “Rejection Hotline” for women
to use the next time they are asked for their phone number.
(If only we could give it to some telemarketers . . .)

Happy Hump Day everyone! Keep laughing.
