1. Lovely Parting Gifts

If you have colleagues that are being laid off, retiring
or just moving onto greener pastures, then why not turn
what can sometimes be a somber affair (especially
where layoffs are concerned) and have a celebration.
But instead of folks bringing gifts and corny speeches,
everyone is required to bring along a great idea, a
reference book, three contact names or something else
of real value that will help the person move on to
the next stage of their life. ==========================================================
2. Mike’s Fun at Work Tip

Look for opportunities to add some humor to signs in and
around your workplace. For example, at a First Baptist
church, they have the following sign: “Permit Parking
Only. We Forgive Those Who Trespass Against Us – But We
Also Tow Them.” How about the bakery with the sign:
Get Your Buns In Here! Or there’s the sign at the vet
clinic: No Parking Here – Violators Will Be Neutered!

3. Quote of the Week

“A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any
invention in human history, with the possible exceptions
of handguns and tequila.” Mitch Ratliffe

4. It’s a Wacky, Wacky World

Once again, science has opened up our eyes to new and
amazing insights. A study from Cornell University found
that, yes, astonishingly enough, people eat more stale
popcorn if it is served in a large bucket. My mind
is totally blown.
