1. International Nurse’s Day

Yes, May 12th is International Nurse’s Day, so if you are a nurse,
I highly recommend taking the day off.

And if you know a nurse, you’re married to a nurse, you’ve ever been
helped by a nurse, or heck, you just like dressing up like a nurse,
then take some time today to do something special for a nurse, clinic
or hospital of your choice. Send some chocolates, send flowers,
send a card, or heck, dress up like a nurse to show your
support for the amazing work nurses perform around the world.
2. Mike’s Fun at Work Tip

If you are wondering why nurses get a day, and there is
no day to recognize YOUR particular profession, then do something
about it by creating a day a year for the different jobs or teams
in your workplace. WestJet Airlines, for example, has an annual
Nerd Day to recognize the nerds that work in their company.

Anything is possible – just select a day a year for your own
“Accountant’s Day,” “Official Mail Clerk’s Day,” or “Deep-Sea
Welder Day.”

And if your office or team is relatively small, then why not create
an official international day to recognize each employee
once a year with an “Official Bob Day,” “Margaret’s Day”
“That Time of the Year When Everyone Has to be Nice to Ralph
Again Day.”
3. Quote of the Week
“Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain.”
Lily Tomlin
4. It’s a Wacky, Wacky World
An apartment dweller in Berlin sued his upstairs neighbor because
she laughed too loud! The offending laugher, however, had the last
laugh after the magistrate threw the case out of court, claiming that
“Laughter is a sound of life and cannot be banned under German law.”

Happy Hump Day to all and to all a good night. Or day.
