The Hump Day Humor-Gram, October 26, 2005 Issue Number 150

In this issue. . .

Thanks for the “Five Reasons I Love Monday Mornings!”
submissions. You still have one week to win a deck of
Putting Humor to Work Mem-Cards by submitting your wacky
top five reasons you LOVE Mondays!

1. Mime-O-Vision
2. Mike’s Fun at Work Tip
3. Deep Thought of the Week
4. It’s a Wacky, Wacky World

1. Mime-O-Vision

The minor league baseball team Saint Paul Saints is well
known for their fan-friendly fun (and try saying that fast
three times), customer service and often outrageous
promotional gimmicks and wacky events.

One of my favorite stunts: since they can’t afford the
big jumbo screens to show instant replays to the fans
in the stands, they once brought in mimes to recreate
instant replays for the fans. Yes, they had Mime-O-Vision!
(Hey – just imagine what a couple of mimes at your
organization could do for you?!)

2. Mike’s Fun at Work Tip

Turn your e-mail auto-reply into a fun message. Include
a funny quote, a short joke or let readers know you’ve been
kidnapped by your family, or you’re going on a ten day
vision quest, or you’re taking part in a top secret
government operation and are not allowed to tell anyone
where you can be reached, or you’re trapped under a piece
of furniture and can’t get to your e-mail or you’ve
signed up for nude bungie jumping lessons!
=========================================================
3. Deep Thought of the Week

Live one day at a time. After all, isn’t that why they
were put in consecutive order? Anonymous
=========================================================
4. It’s a Wacky, Wacky World

Here’s the latest wacky warning label to cross my desk,
on a can of insect spray: “Kills flies, wasps, mosquitoes
and other flying insects. Not tested on animals.”

Happy hump day! May the farce be with you.
