1. Good Humor a Sign of a Well-Functioning Brain!

Research published in the Journal of International Neuropsychological
Society indicates that how well a person gets a joke can be an
important indication as to how well their brain is functioning, and
how well the brain is aging in senior citizens.

This research backs up other studies reported by the International
Group for Humor Research that suggest the practice of humor can
help keep us mentally agile, while a healthy appreciation of
humor reflects a creative, healthy mind.

Some folks have even suggested that humor is one of the highest
cognitive functions a brain can perform (although I think some
of the people saying this are comedians)!

Creativity expert Edward de Bono, for example, suggests that, “Humor
is by far the most significant activity the human brain can perform.”
While Dan Piraro, the creator of the Bizarro comic strip reminds us,
“Humor is the only thing that keeps the human brain from turning into
a raisin.”

So give your brain a regular and much-needed workout by feeding it a
hefty dose of humor each and every day.

Your brain will thank you for it.
2. Mike’s Fun at Work Tip

Help ensure your employees make a great first impression
both within and outside your organization by holding a “Funniest-
Or-Most-Creative-or-Most-Upbeat-Yet-Still-Very-Professional” voice
mail or answering machines message contest.
3. Deep Thought of the Week

Remember: Everything is within walking distance . . .
if you have the time.
4. It’s a Wacky, Wacky World

The mayor of a small town in Spain has passed a policy stating that
all men in the town must stay HOME on Thursday evenings to help with
chores and the children. Any male found away from home between
9:00 pm. and 2:00 a.m. will be fined!

Most of the men are very upset about this policy, and plan
to boycott the law by going out to the bar. Some of the women who
think it is a good idea are also going to support the policy by
going out to the bar, which I guess will leave the young
ones fending for themselves . . .

Happy Hump Day everyone! May the farce be with you.
