Happy Workplaces: A Simple Way to Spread More Positivity for a Happier Workplace
Here’s a simple idea, inspired by the theater improv troop Improv Everywhere, to add more positivity and spread some happiness in your workplace.
A Simple Idea to Create a Happier Workplace
The improv group Improv Everywhere did a very cool thing. In New York City, they set up a lectern with a loudspeaker where they encouraged people to just publicly say something nice, anything nice. Now you might think that that’s something we might do in kindergarten class, but you know what – if you want to create a happier, more positive workplace, why not create a “say something nice!” board in your office on a giant whiteboard? Make it the first thing thing people see when they walk into your building or put it into their lunch room, in a meeting room, just somewhere!
And you can do this virtually – you could create a Slack channel dedicated to this, you could set up a part of your intranet site where people can publicly say something nice. It could be about somebody you work with, it could be about a client, it could just be a general sentiment that someone wants to express that’s nice!
And what about you? What are you doing in your workplace to encourage people to be nice and say something nice? Do you have any creative ideas? Leave a comment in the comment box!
