Four Keys to More Intentional Leadership
Leading with intention
I like the term “intentional leadership” because I honestly believe that first and foremost leadership is about a mindset. It’s about a person’s attitude and willingness to step up and lead. Leadership starts when a person simply makes the choice to lead.
Inspiring leaders who I’ve interviewed around the world tell me time and time again how it starts with an intentional choice on their part, and how they practice being more intentional: whether it’s taking a few minutes alone at the start of the day to think about how they will intentionally wear their “leadership toque” and be more present throughout the day, or reflecting at the end of the day on how they might have done things differently.
In the video below, I talk about four keys to intentional leadership that I see come up time and time again in my conversations with leaders around the world. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic. What do you think is key when it comes to being an intentional leader? What traits make a leader a truly inspiring leader? How would you define the difference between being a leader and being a manager?
