The Ha Ha Award…And Other Fun Ways to Recognize Employees
Add some fun to work with some fun awards
Add some fun oomph and energy to your usual array of employee awards with some creative, offbeat awards that encourage the behaviors and attitudes you want to see more of on your team and in your workplace. Here are just a few of the hundreds of fun awards I’ve seen companies dole out around the world:
- The Houdini Award for whoever magically makes a big problem disappear
- The Least Likely To Be Voted Off the Island Award
- The Road Warrior Award for whoever had the most grueling commute or business road trip
- The “I Got Your Back Award” to whoever best looks out for their teammates’ safety
- The Exalted Order of the Extended Neck Award: Voted on by front line employees for whoever asks senior management the most uncomfortable questions
- The Almost Hit It Out of the Ballpark Award for whoever tried something innovative but it didn’t quite work…at least not yet!
- The Contagious Smile Award to whoever is best known for wearing their infectious smile with everything they do
- The Swiss Army Knife Award for the best multi-tasker
- The Person Most Likely to OD on Caffeine Award (okay, so not necessarily a behavior you are trying to encourage, but fun just the same)
- The Funkiest Sock Wearer
- The Felix Award for the cleanest desk or office/The Oscar for the messiest desk or office
And one of my personal favorites…the Ha Ha Award as I describe in the brief video below.
